30 mins before the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China

Bizarre colorful (luminous/glowing) cloud phenomenon in the sky was observed about 30 mins before the May 12, 2008 Sichuan earthquake took place. This was recorded in Tianshui, Gansu province ~450km northeast of epicenter, by someone using a cell phone. source: http://news.qq.com/a/20080513/004283.htm See similar cloud formation captured 20 minutes later in a different city, ~200km east of this location: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzVamN... These clouds seemed to be glowing or somewhat luminous and seemed to resemble some characteristics of the Auroras. I am not sure exactly what they were or whether they indeed had anything to do with the quake. I am no expert anyways. See if any scientists are willing to give a full explanation. If such phenomenon can be proved for its connection with earthquake occurrences, maybe they could be used as warning signs and would be life saving. If not, just learn these clouds as yet another rare atmospheric phenomenon and no need to panic when seeing them. After all, this might well be just a rare atmospheric phenomenon occurred by coincidence. Though, just wondering if there's any possibility the formation of such rare clouds be catalyzed by any event?? Six Month Anniversary of Sichuan Earthquake

China commemorated the six-month anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake. The catastrohpe left over 80,000 people dead and thousands homeless. Teachers and students of Donghekou primary school in Sichuan province gathered on the site of their collapsed school and mourned those who had lost their lives in the quake. Three students and three teachers at the school were killed by the 7.9 magnitude tremor, according to media reports. After paying a one-minute silence to the dead, teachers and students planted a commemorative tree on the site of the ruins. Many of the thousands killed by the quake were children who had been in schools that crumbled. China vowed to punish those responsible after grieving parents blamed their children's deaths on substandard construction stemming from corruption and greed. But no prosecutions have been reported and some families say they have been pressured into dropping their complaints against local officials. The central government announced earlier this week that it will spend 1 trillion yuan, thats 146.5 billion dollars, over the next three years to rebuild damaged areas. The quake left about 10 million homeless. Whole villages were razed across many areas in southwest China. People all over the country are called on to donate quilts and warm clothes to help the quake survivors get through the winter.

Uno Strano effetto luminoso è stato osservato nel cielo di Sichuan 30 minuti circa prima terremoto del 12 maggio 2008 che ha colpito la Cina. Non si sa con certezza se queste nubi possano essere messe in relazione con il terremoto, ma se lo fossero, potrebbero essere utilizzate come un segnale di allarme.
