A flight around New York City, NY, in Flight Simulator X. This was to test my new processor (Intel E5200@3.6 GHz). This video was inspired by an old FS2004 video that used the same song and was for the Portland, OR, area. The following settings were used in the video: -Scenery Complexity: Extremely Dense -Autogen: Extremely Dense -Water: Low 2.x -Commercial Air Traffic: 50% -General Aviation Traffic: 0 -Automobile Traffic: 10% -Ships & Ferries: 10% Average FPS without FRAPS recording: 30-70 FPS Average FPS with FRAPS recording: 20-30 FPS.

This video is presented by the New York Flying Club, an online organization that flies Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane on the VATSIm network. This video is focused on how to make a rectangular pattern with just enough information about the aircraft and techniques to accomplish that goal. We deliberately present an imperfect flight to show how best to recover from beginners mistakes and get the most out of pattern work. A good pattern will result in more time to get used to an unfamiliar aircraft. That is why touch-and-go's, or closed traffic, is done. The presenter is not a flying instructor, however he is a licensed pilot. As such this should not be used as a substitute for real world flight instruction.
