Beginning with the World Trade Center's North Tower afire and billowing dense smoke, and ending on the vast expanse of ash-brown debris the following morning, The First 24 Hours documents "ground zero" in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Shot independently over a 24-hour period, the film is first a witness to the fall of the twin towers, as a line of fire and a buckle in the armature signal imminent collapse. It is then an intimate view of the smoldering monochromatic site and the surrounding solitary streets, the ashen outskirts of New York's financial center, desolate and strewn with debris, the epicenter, a steel moonscape of Dresdenesque remains. People on the site work monotonously, in a fervor, then dazed, trance-like. Director George Pal is noted as a special effects maestro, both in films for children that feature his "puppetoons" and in sci-fi spectacles like the War of the Worlds. So it is no surprise that this sci-fi yarn about the fabled sunken continent of Atlantis should excel in the special effects department. Otherwise, the story is a clichéd tale about Demetrios (Anthony Hall) a Greek fisherman who is tempted into going to Atlantis by Antillia (Joyce Taylor), a princess of that doomed land. This is the little video that should explain the comic I'm going to make on my character on Deviant Art,the dude's name is The Hero Mark,note I didn't plan on making the whole thing Hero Mark,honestly,first name popped up in my head,too many GOOD super hero names gone,anyway it's the history of where it came from. Complaints: AUGH! It took a while to finish because of the new laptop we got,PLUS,I had difficulty finding good story telling music,so I gave up on the music and brought it out as it was,so if you want,go ahead and play some story telling music in the bg while it plays. On a side note,if you can't read it fast enough,here's the story typed: Hero Mark Origins A long time ago,there were two twin boys,both bore hats with the first letter of their name on them... One of them was pure of heart,the other had a heart that evil could penetrate at any second... One day the brother who had a "fragile" heart(slight story change =P) had his heart tainted by an evil force known as, The Ztar! The brother who had a pure heart tried to stop him,but his brother was deep in the darkness and severely hurt him... His hands were ruined! Or so it appeared. He was given a great power when his bandages were removed... When he touched something,he became it,wood,fire,water,rock.Or when he touched a weapon,he wielded it with the skill of a master... Meanwhile,the tainted brother commited evil acts to collect the other 12 Ztars for world domination! The brother who was pure of heart figured out his plan and tried to stop him,but all his efforts were in vain because it always ended in a draw,and the tainted brother recovered first and escaped,every time... At one point the pure brother didn't have enough strength and defeat was imminent! Just as the final strike was about to be brought,a magical rock came to help,and his service lasted until the tainted brother was defeated... Learning the source of his brother's power,the pure brother decided to seek out the 7 Start Spirits for help,they said when the time came,they would join to fight to help... When the time came,he faced his brother who had the 13 Ztars to control while he had the 7 Star Spirits to help,along with the Magical Rock,he vanquished the evil that had taken over his brother and the 13 Ztars,unknowing that he had actually sent them to the future... Now. The story is retold,only with a few different things added and changed,it takes place in the 21st century where 2 twin boys go to visit their Aunt,Princess Peach,where their lives are changed.Enjoy.
